Grutas de García Caves

This cave complex is located in the municipality of García, some 50 minutes from the city of Monterrey on road 40 to Saltillo. García is a small municipality with several sights, the biggest of which is the caves, Grutas de García. This cave system was under the ocean for many years, leaving fossilized remains in its walls. The caves were discovered in 1843 by Father Juan Antonio de Sobrevilla, and they became one of the state’s tourist attractions. They have been completely adapted for visitors, with stairs for easy access.
