Wa-Kuatay Museum

This 20th century building perfectly showcases the history of Rosarito and its surroundings. The name comes from the Kumiai language and means “Big house of the big chief”. Visitors can expect art and handicrafts made by the Yumano people, documents referring to the region’s origins, an exhibition about the period of the missions of the Californias, and even a mammoth’s tusk. There is a temporary exhibition room, and a space for cultural events too.
