Señor de los Trabajos Temple

If you walk from the San Pedro Apóstol Parish Church, along Melchor Ocampo Street heading up, you will find this small and unfinished church. Half way along the route, turn and look at the dilapidated walls of La Purísima, an old hacienda.

Back in the old days, the miners would commend themselves to the Patrono de los Mineros (Patron Saint of Miners), since they believed him responsible for miraculously providing the town’s inhabitants with work and protecting them from accidents.
