Quinta Avenida

A few blocks from the shoreline, Quinta Avenida is one of the best-known pedestrian streets in the Mexican Caribbean. During the day it functions as a relaxed promenade of shops and open-air terraces. Ferry to Cozumel

From the Playa del Carmen pier, ferries depart daily for the island of Cozumel. The trip takes less than an hour and connects travelers with one of the Caribbean’s most important diving destinations. The reefs surrounding the island are part of the Mesoamerican Reef System, one of the largest coral reef networks in the world and widely recognized for its marine biodiversity.

Rio Secreto

At Rio Secreto, the subterranean landscape is defined by ancient formations: towering stone columns, red-hued cavities reminiscent of bell towers, and domes sculpted by the constant movement of water and dark mineral crystals. The experience follows a 600-meter route where visitors walk and swim through a dense gallery of stalagmites and stalactites. Playa 72

Known locally as Playa del Colosio or Playa 72, this stretch of coastline in Playa del Carmen remains one of the destination's most tranquil settings. The atmosphere is decidedly rustic, characterized by simple access points and limited services. This understated approach is purposeful, aiming to maintain Playa 72 as a preserved slice of the original Playa del Carmen landscape for those seeking a quiet connection with the shore.

Playa Punta Esmeralda

Despite its central location in the Riviera Maya, Punta Esmeralda remains a relatively quiet destination, offering an experience distinct from the busier stretches of the coastline. Situated at the edge of the Colosio neighborhood in Playa del Carmen, the area is also known locally as Playa Esmeralda. The site is defined by a coastal cenote that sits directly on the beach. This geological feature creates a unique natural display, as the cool freshwater from the cenote merges with the clear Caribbean Sea, producing a shifting spectrum of turquoise and emerald tones along the shoreline.
