Parque Morelos a huge tree-lined park with barbecues, children’s playgrounds, go karts and a puppet theater. The kids will love the small zoo with deer, ostriches and camels. There are boats on the lake and children’s laughter floating on the breeze.

The Parque de la Amistad boasts a lake teeming with ducks and pedalboats. Many come to jog or run around the palm trees and eucalyptus. While some prefer cycling, others enjoy the go karts or the open-air theater.

The Parque Teniente Guerrero is located in the center of the city, with a bandstand, pigeons and benches. There is children’s play equipment, as well as stalls selling balloons and candy. Under the trees, chess players come together to try out their best strategies.

Mundo Divertido is a park whose name means “world of fun” … and it certainly lives up to this; there are rollercoasters and video arcade games, a target range, snooker tables and other adrenaline-inducing attractions. On the weekends there is live music and clowns too.

The Museo El Trompo is another ideal place for a family day out. The museum’s aim is to bring children closer to science and technology through interactive exhibitions. Bubbles, cells and paw prints are just some of the themes on display. Kids can make music, move compasses, see their own shadows and learn about planets. The museum also has a 3D cinema and an audiorama with conferences, concerts and art or robotics workshops.
