Every November since 2002, the Festival Internacional del Globo (International Hot Air Balloon Festival) is held in the city park, Parque Metropolitano. It is a show, but you can register as crew on the festival’s website. The event includes concerts, expos, a rodeo, rides, and magical nights in which the tied-down balloons are lit up.

What to Know
To get up close to the action when the balloons lift off, you can camp out in Parque Metropolitano, an almost 900-acre nature reserve with two trails for runners and cyclists. Don’t forget your tent.
