Minor Cathedral Basilica

Construction on Minor Cathedral Basilica in the city of Durango started just a year after the Asunción Parish Church was destroyed by fire, and the church was completed between 1841 and 1844. The interior decoration, done at the beginning of the 20th century, references Byzantine style, while the main altar displays an image of the Virgin of the Assumption.
