Oceanman Cozumel

Oceanman is the only international swimming championship featuring an open water course designed by swimmers for swimmers. It offers professional and amateur swimmers the chance to beat a personal challenge in exceptionally beautiful settings.

Oceanman comes to Mexico

The crystal-clear water of the Mexican Caribbean is ready to welcome competitors in the Oceanman championship. This event in Cozumel is usually a qualifying race for competing in the Oceanman World Final.

Race rules

For updated registration information, race package delivery, and host hotels, we recommend following the event’s social media accounts. The latest information about the different locations that make up the championship is often shared there. These are the most important rules for participating in the competition without being eliminated.

• Each participant is responsible for knowing and following every part of the competition’s rules.
• Each swimmer is responsible for competing in good physical condition and with sufficient training.
• Getting help from a family member, friend, or trainer during the race is forbidden.
• Wearing a wetsuit or any kind of neoprene suit is not allowed.
• The use of a personal safety buoy is obligatory for all distances.
• The use of specialized equipment is limited to swimmers who have received express permission from the organization in connection with a specific need.
• Oceanman Mexico reserves the right to withdraw any participant from the water to ensure their safety, as specified by the guidelines established in the rules.
• Only the main judge may respond to swimmers’ complaints. Any complaint must be submitted in writing in the format provided by the main judge, together with a 40-euro deposit. Said deposit will be refunded if the resolution is favorable.
• Only one complaint may be filed per situation.
• The event may be canceled without prior warning if weather conditions could endanger competitors.
