San Juan Bautista Parish Church
The Parroquia de San Juan Bautista is the historical starting point for the north.
The building, the images of saints, and its baptismal font, are all from the beginning of the 18th century.
Ever since then, this parish church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist was established as the headquarters for the evangelization and expansion of the Spanish colony in the north of the country, providing protection and supplies to the colonizing caravans in Texas.
Surrounding it are other old and interesting buildings such as an hacienda from the 19th century which is now a school, an old mansion, and a few hundred-year-old houses.
