In order to learn about the state’s history, from the pre-Hispanic era up until the beginning of the 20th century, you must visit Chiapas Regional Museum. Its archeology hall exhibits pieces that belonged to the region’s indigenous people.
The history hall addresses the changes that the arrival of the Spanish brought with it, the incorporation of Chiapas to an independent Mexico, as well as the local events associated with the Mexican Revolution.
In addition to a temporary exhibitions hall, the museum has an auditorium used for cultural events.
