Services in Campeche City
Campeche is a beautiful walled city with a warm climate. It was once a strategic port for commercial trade between New Spain and the New World, which is why it was continually besieged by pirates. Today it is an unmissable destination of the Mexican southeast. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in Campeche there are still echoes of the past within its neighborhoods, churches, plazas and elegant Spanish-style mansions; whilst its imposing forts have been turned into interesting museums and gardens.
Another reason why you should include it on your list of places to go is that nearby is the archeological site of Edzná and, only a few hours away, the majestic Calakmul.
