Fort of San José El Alto

Built in the 18th century, this fort is an example of the military architectural complexes developed in America after the establishment of the Spanish colonies. Today it is home to the Museo de Barcos y Armas, a museum inside which you can admire works of art from the state’s Viceroyalty period, as well as weapons and vessels used by the Mexican Armada during the 20th century.
