Playa 38 Beach

Meander down Calle 38 street towards the beach and relax on Playa 38 in Playa del Carmen.

Playa 38 Beach

Certainly, Playa del Carmen’s most famous street is Quinta Avenida, home to many restaurants, shops, terraces, and bars. However, if you are looking for a less-crowded option with the same vibe, Calle 38 is your spot.

Even better, it ends at the beach—the beautiful Playa 38, where you can enjoy the white sand and turquoise waves. Take a stroll through the area!

A vibrant street that spills out onto a beach

If you want to get into the swing of things at this beautiful beach destination, we recommend exploring Calle 38. Located just a few blocks from the famous Quinta Avenida street, you’ll find a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars perfect for spending time with friends, family, or your significant other.

One of this area’s main attractions is the public beach at the end of the street. Bring your towels, beach umbrellas, food, and drinks to enjoy a day of sand, sun, and sea.

You’ll also find local vendors offering mixed drinks and a variety of food. No doubt, it’s one of the best places to kick back and enjoy a picnic on the beach.

Things to do in Playa 38

  • Remember, it’s a public beach, so bring your own towel, blankets, and beach umbrellas to make the most of your day.
  • Visit one of the street’s restaurants before lying on the sand. Or, bring your own food and beverages for a seaside picnic.
  • The water in the area is calm with an intensely turquoise color, making it the perfect spot for swimming, even for the little ones.

Remember not to leave any trash on the beach. Respect the natural areas to help protect them for further enjoyment.
