Church of San Francisco in Atlixco

A few yards from 16 de Septiembre street, you can find one of Atlixco’s best-kept secrets: San Francisco Church. This lone structure will fill you with peace. Guarded by cactus and Cerro de San Miguel Hill, the compound is made up of the church, upper and lower cloister, cells, and garden. Inside, it holds a splendid nave typical of Franciscan structures from the 16th century.
